Piolet

The Internet is the largest source of files and allows you to find almost any type of content, including music, videos, images, software, e-books and so on. But in order to have access to these types of contents, you will need to install a special type of application, called P2P client. Using this program, you will be able to connect to a specific Peer 2 Peer network which offers free downloads to all its members.

One such P2P client is Piolet. This Windows program allows you to connect to a large P2P network and download almost any kind of file fast and free. After installing the program, it will ask the user to configure its functionality through a step by step wizard. For completing the wizard, the user will need to type a username and also select the folders which will be shared through the application.

After the wizard is complete, the user will be able to find files just by typing a part of their name. Optionally, he can select the type of files which should be found, for narrowing the search results. Each found file can be played directly in the program's interface, using a built-in player, without having to download it first. Thus, the user will know if the found file is exactly what he is looking for.

For each media file, Piolet can display some quality information, like the duration, bit-rate, frequency, resolution and so on. For downloading a specific file, it's enough to double-click on it and it will be immediately downloaded in the program's default download folder.

Another useful feature included in Piolet is the possibility of adding certain program users to a buddy list, for simple and easy communication using instant messages.
